more about the safari

Our last day of the safari trip was last Tuesday. We went for a hike through the jungle to get a closer look at Murchison Falls. Lots of mosquitoes were trying to nibble at us, but I had several days worth of DEET layers caked on me. Amazingly, I don't have a single mosquito bite yet. I haven't been bit at all the entire time I've been in Uganda. Casey gets mad every time I say I still have no bites because she looks like a pin cushion! Everyone else has quite a lot of bites. Yeah me! Anyway, the trek to the waterfall was breathtaking and very wet! We even saw a snake perched in a tree. Yikes! Apparently, all snakes in Africa are poisonous. After the hike we got back in our matatu (the van taxi) and drove back to Kampala which took all day. I'll have to post some pictures another time because Casey has the usb port I have all my pics on. Also, I didn't tell you about our ferry ride back from our safari drive. It was at sunset; feeding time for the crocs! And since the ferry had been having trouble I was glad we made it across the river without sinking. We would've been dinner!
